Amelia Toro, using colorful, embroidered fabric called mola in his creation, gave His coat and dress a touch of Colombia.
Traditional Mola was made by indigenous women who live in the area of ancient Caribbean coast of Colombia near the border with Panama.
Toro also got inspiration from the Wayuu and Putumayo. He said, “my goal is the mixing of these cultures in a sophisticated and elegant manner, so that this continues to craft and heritage is not lost.”
