Sarah Burton, Kate Moss, Alexa Chung, Victoria Beckham, SamCam–Paris may have a couture and New York may have Marc, but it’s the Brits who ruled fashion this year.
Tonight in London, the names and many more who gathered for the annual United Kingdom Fashion Awards, presented by the British Fashion Council (equivalent of CFDA in United Kingdom). There are many rewards to go around, given the amount of crazy successful designers and tastemakers have United Kingdom by 2011.
Not surprisingly, Sarah Burton took home top honors as the “Designer of the Year” for his work on Alexander McQueen … and, of course, Royal wedding dress.
Also expected: Victoria Beckham WINS for “Designer brand of the Year” is aware of her success with her ready-made, handbang, and accessory collections, presented to him by Marc Jacobs. (Which, by the way, explaining why he and Harper flew from Los Angeles this morning-they are a London-bound!)
So who else wants to win big? Accessory Designer of the Year went to Charlotte Dellal to Charlotte Olympia, brand that loved by many celebs including Olivia Palermo. Incidentally, Palermo is on hand to present not Dellal but rather to the Mary Katrantzou, who won the best emerging talent in Womenswear.
